we have known
embrace our soul during times when we
feel we are alone
even when days are gray and the world turns cold
we find our comfort
in the places we call home.

There are tears out there –journeys of sadness
roaming homeless sidewalks
thinking no one cares. In their stares
are the looks of hopelessness
that we all fear
and in their hearts are those nightmares
of pain we all are afraid to hear,
but inside their dreams is the warmth
of family they have once known ;
a shelter of love
from places they once called home,
and there are faces our there; faces searching
for somewhere to belong. They travel
distant roads in unknown places
just hoping a hand will come along;
someone to see their eyes
and protect them from desperate skies;
someone to find them as they are out there
on their own
and guide them to a place they have once known;
a place in their hearts
that they can once again call home.

Everlasting moments – those bonds
that helped us rise on our own
lifts our spirits when times are tough
and builds our strength
when we feel we walk this world alone;
no matter how lost we feel;
no matter how much we try to go unknown
we can never take for granted
those places we call home.
